Eserciti E Popoli’s 20th Annivarsary International Film Festival Selects American Music Video Director Alisa Daglio to jury
Los Angeles based Music Video Director Alisa Daglio was the only American and female selected to judge the 2009 20th Anniversary of the International Film Festival “Eserciti E Popoli” held in Bracciano Italy.
Los Angeles Based Music Video Director Alisa Daglio was the only American and female Music Video sDirector selected to judge the 2009 20th Anniversary of the Iternational Film Festival “Eserciti E Popoli” held from November 9th to the 14th in Bracciano Italy. The Universal Studios sponsored event was chaired by famed Italian journalist Tonino Scaroni and included 5 judges with backgrounds in directing and journalism.
Delegates from 21 countries submitted 53 short films ranging in topics from Croatian peacekeeping missions in Chad to the Russian assault of Chechnya. Film submissions were judged on cinematography, directing, editing, score, and topic category relevance. Early standouts included works surrounding the Chinese Liberation Army’s involvement with the Beijing Olympics and the re-enactment of Finnish special ops anti-terrorist activities.
Apart from directing award winning music videos, Daglio’s own documentary works include on location filming of the slave trade routes in Nigeria and documenting the relocation of Israelites before territories were turned over to Palestine. “I am extremely honored to be involved with this monumental event,” stated Daglio “As the youngest female jury member and the only American Music Video Director, I think I bring a fresh and unique perspective to this year’s judging.”
Bracciano, home of the famous Odescalchi castle is poised to host the festival again in 2010. Current festival results will be announced following an official international ceremony on November 14 2009.
